MYANMAR FOR QANTAS & UNICEF
Behind the scenes with Unicef Ambassador Adam Liaw in remote Myanmar for Qantas and Unicef “Change For Good“ programme, documenting the importance of your spare change donations onboard Qantas flights and how they are making a huge impact on the lives of children in Myanmar. Just 5 cents provides a child clean drinking water for 2 days , 20 cents can provide a child with life saving vaccination and 50 cents can provide a child with a book and a pencil. The effect this program has on communities in third world countries is amazing and to see the benefits first hand was a real eye opener.
I was fortunate enough to film in and around the ancient city of Bagan and the landscape and history of the place was mind blowing. Today there are about 2,000 temples that were built from the 7th to 13th Century that still remain across the 40 sq km radius lost in time. It is truly one of the seven wonders of the world!
Despite the country being in political unrest since the 1960’s and only recently being opened up to the outside world the people were some of friendliest I’d ever encountered. It was amazing travelling thru this beautiful country meeting the people and experiencing their culture.
